The Six OSML Index is a longitudinal global empirical study among 2,000+ leaders from around the globe about adoption patterns of organizational social media literacy at large and global organizations. It is designed to monitor the development of novel skill sets and the related transition towards the enterprise model of the 21st century.
Based on a proprietary framework, the Index will provide tangible metrics that allow companies to assess and benchmark the development of the required capabilities of interconnected organizations. We will also identify key enablers and barriers along the path to Organizational Social Media Literacy, and collect cases about how companies leverage social media for competitive advantage.
The results of the research will be published in form of a detailed annual report that will be presented at an annual conference. The large and global sample allows for a detailed analysis along multiple dimensions (age, gender, education, industry, geography, seniority, function, and more). We expect that the rich data set the project is generating will trigger additional in-depth research on selected topics.
