Innovating Corporate Innovation

Corporate innovation remains one of the big challenges organizations face when they have reached a certain maturity stage and want to grow or reinvent themselves. We know that “exploiting” the present requires a different mind- and capability set as “exploring” future opportunities. How can we mitigate these conflicting rationales? How can we move beyond “innovation theater” – the hackathons, pitch-me sessions, or agile sprints that all too often remain empty exercises?

This is a transcript of a watercooler conversation featuring Valery Yakubovich (Executive Director of the Mack Institute for Innovation Management at the Wharton School of Business), Michael Nichols (Head Corporate Venture Capital at MANN+HUMMEL), and Andrew Binns (Co-Founder of Change Logic and Author of Corporate Explorer).
